Information
The Humboldt-Institut is a non-profit association for German as a foreign language which was first established in 1977. In the three-plus decades of its existence, over 40.000 students from more than 160 countries have come to Germany to study in one of its 18 different course centers.
Intensive Courses
The intensive German courses comprise 30 lessons per week. The very effective lessons cover all areas of language acquisition (reading, writing, listening, grammar and expression).
TestDaF Preparatory Courses
TestDaF preparatory courses with 30 lessons per week are especially designed for students who wish to prepare for the standardized TestDaF exam. In the TestDaF preparatory course you will also practice real exam situations. Special emphasis will be put on vocabulary and the use of means of verbal expressions.
One-to-one Courses
Humboldt  offer all German learners the opportunity to intensify their language experience by taking highly intensive one-to-one German courses with 30 or 40 lessons per week.
The teacher will focus on the individual needs of the course participant and will custom-tailor the lessons according to his or her necessities. Taking one-to-one lessons will certainly help students, that wish to attain a certain goal in a minimum of time, or who wish to make up for a lack of knowledge to fit into the class of a certain language level.
Business German
Possessing intercultural competence and job-related foreign language skills is a clear advantage in the globalized job market. This course is aimed at (prospective) students and employees and in business and administration who are already proficient in German (level B2 or higher). This program covers basic business activities such as telephone calls with clients, business correspondence, presentations and negotiations, and also addresses the fundamentals of corporate organizational and management principles. Classroom work is complemented by excursions that offer a practical glimpse at everyday professions life in German companies.
Accommodation
Residential schools - In residential schools, students stay on the same campus where they have their lessons, which has, of course, many advantages for our course participants: they have all meals together, spend the afternoons, evenings and weekends together and hence it is very easy for them to make a lot of new friends from different countries in a short time.
Host families - In the host family,  students stay in single and twin rooms, and will have their breakfast with the family, all other meals will be taken in our school to ensure that they will be integrated in the group of students staying on campus. Humboldt  have chosen all of thier host families very carefully, know them personally, and guarantee that  students will be well taken care of there.
Food - Humboldt course fees mostly include full board, i.e.   breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, as well as a snack or some fruit during the breaks. Humboldt kitchen staff  offers tasty and healthy food, while finding a balance between typical German and international dishes.
